Ringwood Secondary College offers students at Year 9 and 10 a diverse and relevant curriculum program taught by specialist teachers. The curriculum program has been designed to meet the diverse educational needs of the students and to provide them with stimulating and valuable learning experiences. Students study core subjects in line with the Strands/Domains as defined by the Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS) and select elective subjects according to their interests and strengths.
At the Year 9 level, all students take part in the interGREAT program.
Students are encouraged to reflect upon and articulate their individual Learning Goals which provides a wonderful opportunity for them to take responsibility for their own learning.
Laptop computers for every student have been integrated in all learning areas with an emphasis on building the capacity of learners to embrace the skills required in the 21st century.
We, the students at Ringwood Secondary College, acknowledge the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation as the traditional custodians of the land we are meeting on today.
We appreciate the waterways, mountains, skies, plants and animals from this land and thank our ancestors for their ceremonies of story-telling, music, dance and celebration.
We pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging and promise to learn to live in a community that is part of the oldest living culture on Earth and move forwards together to a place of equity, justice and partnership.
We recognise that First Nations sovereignty was never ceded. This was and always will be Aboriginal Land.
