Senior School
The Senior School at Ringwood Secondary College consists of Years 11 and 12. Students are supported by their classroom teachers, four Year Level Coordinators, a Senior School Leader, a VET Coordinator, along with a Careers and Wellbeing Team.
Year 11 and 12 Students have their own dedicated building, consisting of multiple areas for individual and group study opportunities. VCE students undertake study skills workshops and presentations through their time in Senior School. This is complemented by revision and practice exams for Year 12 students. VCE Vocational Major students are presented with many practical learning experiences.
Examinations form part of the assessment for Year 11 and 12 VCE students. Year 11 examinations are held at the end of Semester 1 and 2, with Year 12 completing examinations in accordance with the VCAA schedule and guidelines.
Our aim is to support students through their VCE, VCE Vocational Major and/or VET programs, leading to a successful Year 12 completion.

VET Program
Students have access to undertake Vocational Education and Training courses. VET programs give young people a wider choice of learning approaches and studies in VCE, while broadening their post-school options. Students have access to a wide range of courses from neighbouring schools and TAFE institutions. Students studying in the VCE program can undertake a VET course, however, this is a requirement for students enrolled in the VCE VM program if not undertaking a School Based Apprenticeship of Traineeship.
Senior School Course Selection 2025
The first step in the course selection process is to consider a
student’s pathway beyond school. It is important to ensure that
selections have met any required prerequisites for university or
TAFE courses, and that selected studies are appropriately
matched to the individual interests and abilities of a student.
A VCE program is usually completed over two years chosen
from the VCE studies offered at Ringwood Secondary College.
When creating a VCE program, students must select 4 units of
an English grouped subject. Students can then select other
units that best fulfil requirements to make a total of 22 units to
be completed across Years 11 and 12.
