About Our Productions
Performing Arts at Ringwood Secondary College has been thriving for decades and continues to go from strength to strength today.
The school has a proud tradition of annual productions and is committed to staging a full scale, large chorus musical in August each year.
Depending on the show, the production team invite students to audition for the production each year, and the school usually accommodates about 60-80 students on stage. Lead roles are double cast where possible and each student will perform in an equal number of shows, increasing performance opportunities.
The orchestra is also comprised primarily of students, as are all other backstage and technical divisions in the production. Of course, a dedicated team of highly skilled and professional teachers set the direction and are supported by an amazingly dedicated team of parents and past students who graciously volunteer their time.
In December of each year, Ringwood Secondary College also stages a Junior Production for Years 7-9. This is designed to provide further opportunities to students in Year 7-8, who may have been unable to make it into the cast of the main musical. The cast of about 70 produce a one act show and pull it together in the last six weeks of the final term.

Little Shop of Horrors – 2025
This vibrant and quirky show brought our community together and showcased the extraordinary talents of our students across every aspect of the production. Audiences were captivated by the incredible performances of our cast, delighted by the live music from our talented student band, and amazed by the creativity and precision of our student-led tech team, whose lighting and sound design elevated the show to new heights. The craftsmanship and teamwork of our puppeteers and stage crew brought Audrey II to life in spectacular fashion, leaving audiences in awe.

Past Productions
For over forty years, Ringwood Secondary College has delighted audiences with a wide variety of entertaining musicals, including beloved classics such as Oliver! Guys and Dolls, My Fair Lady, Anything Goes, and Crazy for You, among many others.
In the past decade alone, the Senior School productions have showcased an impressive array of titles, including School of Rock, All Shook Up, Urinetown, Grease, The Wedding Singer (Concert Version), Monty Python’s Spamalot, The Addams Family, Chicago, Anything Goes, Oliver! and The Producers.
The College’s commitment to excellence has not gone unnoticed. In 2015, Ringwood’s production of Oliver! was awarded “Production of the Year” in the Junior Division by the Music Theatre Guild of Victoria. In 2017, the school’s staging of Chicago received the prestigious “Production of the Year” accolade at the Lyrebird Youth Awards.
In addition to these honours, Ringwood’s productions have received numerous other awards for direction, choreography, musical direction, and outstanding student performances.
