Year 7 Enrolment
Grade 6 to Year 7 Transition
The enrolment process begins in Term 2, in Grade 6, when students submit their placement form to their primary school.
In July, placements are confirmed and students subsequently receive enrolment information.
NB: Successful applicants will need to provide a 100-point residential address check.
Priority order of placement for enrolments for Grade 6 to Year 7 transition:
- Students for whom Ringwood Secondary College is the designated neighbourhood school
- Students who reside permanently at the same address as a sibling attending the school at the same time
- Students based on the proximity of their home to the school
- Students seeking enrolment on specific curriculum grounds
- In exceptional circumstances, enrolment may be sought on compassionate grounds. This does not form part of the priority order of placement.
The Ringwood Secondary College zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au, which hosts the most up-to-date information about Victorian school zones for 2024 onwards.
Students residing in this zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address.
Ringwood Secondary College also accepts “out of zone” placement requests, dependent on capacity.
The Department provides guidance through the School Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and the freedom to choose other schools, subject to capacity. You can find more information and answers to frequently asked questions on the Department’s website under School Zones.
