Junior production 2009
This year's Junior production will be one with a distinctly Australian Flavour - Song of the Bush. More details soon. Auditions start next week and performance dates will be December 11, December 13 (matinee) and December 14. Tickets will be available through our online booking system from November 19.

Art Show & Technology Exhibition
This year's showcase of student work will be displayed and screened in the College's visual arts complex on Thursday October 22 & Friday October 23.

Band Tour 2009
Look out Grampians, here we come! Our 110 strong team of staff and students heads out on this music extravaganza on Monday October 26. This year travelling throughout this part of country Victoria, we are looking forward to performing in many local towns.

Student Dress Code Review
The College is currently undertaking a review of the Student Dress Code Policy. Samples of possible changes to the student uniform will be on display on Tuesday, 8 September in the Library between 3.30 and 5.00 pm. Parents and students are invited to attend and view these items and provide feedback on the proposals as well as the draft policy. Samples will then be available for viewing for the remainder of the week in the College reception area. A copy of the current Student Dress Code Policy is located on the college website under Publications.

Black Band Downunder
This polished band of performers from Usti nad Orlici in the Czech Republic arrived at Ringwood on August 27. Many are former students from the local secondary school that has hosted so many of our students on previous performing arts world tours. Catch one of their performances whilst they are in town.

Music Gala Concert
The highlight of our annual music calendar takes place at the George Wood Centre, Yarra Valley Grammar on Thursday September 17, commencing at 7.30pm. Tickets will be available at the door. Put the date in your diary now.

VCE Premiers Award
Congratulations to Natalie Logan from our VCE class of 2008 who has received a VCE Premiers award at the prestigious ceremony held recently at the new Melbourne Convention Centre.

Parent Teacher Interviews
Semester 1 reports will be distributed for Years 7-10 on Friday July 17 and have already been distributed for all other students. Student & Parent interviews will occur on Thursday July 23 from 4pm to 7pm. Please make bookings with the relevant classroom teacher.

My Fair Lady 2009 College Production
Tickets for this year's production to be held between August 6 and August 15, are now available using the online booking system. Bookings can be accessed at www.trybooking.com/BCR. Limited tickets still available for Sunday August 9 and Saturday August 15. Good seats can be purchased for all other performances.

Updated Information on Human Swine Flu
As you would be aware, Victoria is now in a modified sustain phase of its plan to manage the impact of H1N1 Influenza (Human Swine Flu) in our community. This means that only children confirmed by a doctor as having the virus will be quarantined. Those sharing a house with a confirmed case will not be required to enter quarantine, unless they too are confirmed as having the virus. Classes who may have been in contact with a confirmed case will no longer be quarantined, and schools will no longer be partially or fully closed. Michael Phillips Principal

NAPLAN testing
All Year 7 and 9 students will be involved in the NAPLAN testing program on the 12th, 13th and 14th May. On the 12th May, students will be undertaking tests focusing on Language Conventions and Writing. On the 13th May, students will be undertaking a test on Reading. On 14th May, students will be undertaking Numeracy tests, one using a calculator and one without. A letter regarding the testing program has been sent home to parents/guardians.

Open Night on Tuesday, 5 May - 6.45-8.30 pm
Open Night is an opportunity to showcase our curriculum programs, co-curricular programs and examples of student work. Information sessions for prospective families will be held in the college hall at 7.00 pm and 8.00 pm (repeated). Families are encouraged to view the displays for all learning areas, participate in a tour and talk with teachers and students.

Student Progress Interviews
The next session for progress interviews will be held Thursday, April 23 for Years 7, 8 and 9. Interviews will be held from 4.00 to 7.00p.m. Progress reports and interview booking forms were forwarded home before the end of Term1.
